Chrishawn Spackman Named Owner of the St. Pete Iceburgs

The All Florida Pro League today announced that Chrishawn Spackman will become owner of the St. Pete Iceburgs, effective at the conclusion of the 2026 season. Spackman, who currently serves as Captain and Coach of the GNV Chomp, is a St. Pete resident and now takes the reins of the team that represents her home city.

Spackman brings one of the most complete resumes in the sport to the ownership ranks. She has been drafted into and competed in the MLP Champions Series, the APP Humana Cup, the APP Champions Pro Tour, the Team USA vs. Team Canada Pro Event, and the Texas Senior Pro League. She is a US Open Gold Medalist, a USTA National Pickleball Team Captain and Champion, and a recipient of the National Pickleball League Influencer Award.

Her impact extends well beyond her own play. Spackman served as Head Coaching Pro for the first indoor pickleball facility in Central Virginia and is currently a Certified Pro Coach at St. Pete Athletic Club, where her focus on athlete development and community engagement has made her a fixture in the local pickleball scene.

This season she turned the Chomp into contenders. Gainesville reached the championship game of the AFPL Mid Season Tournament, and at Stop 5 in Lakeland the Chomp went 3-0 in the morning session to earn a spot in the championship match. Those results secured a play-in opportunity at the AFPL Playoffs in Orlando on September 26.

"St. Pete is home, and this community has given me so much," said Spackman. "Owning the Iceburgs is my chance to give back by growing the sport right here in St. Pete, in all ways: more players, more fans, more community connection and more reasons to show up and cheer. I'm finishing this season strong with Gainesville, and then I'm all in on St. Pete."

"Chrishawn has already shown what she can build with a team in a single season," said David Tabb, co-founder of the All Florida Pro League. "She knows how to compete, she knows how to develop players and she genuinely loves St. Pete. That's exactly the kind of leader we want running a team in this league."

Spackman succeeds Bruce Jonas, who has led the Iceburgs for the past two seasons. Jonas will take over the league's newest team, the Tampa Fury.
